does the points go towards vip status??? i was told that if you buy points from another individual that it will NOT count as vip...is that true?

It depends on how many points you bought from the developer etc. It could happen but dont count on it. But at prices over 90 percent less than what you could buy from Wyndham its easy to understand why people dont care either way.
