Q.
Hi:

I will get you the payment tomorrow morning.

What does joint tenants mean? My friend and I will be on the deed. Are there any yearly property taxes involved? Also after the transaction is complete are we given some sort of ID cards to prove we are owners at the Resort?

Thanks

A.

Joint tenants mean you have equal ownership rights. Since there are 2 people you want it Joint Tenants with Rights of Survivorship. That way if anything would happen to one, the second would be the owner and it would not have to go through probate. The taxes are combined in the maintenance fees. ID cards are something that are handled by each resort, and some do, some don’t have them. After you get your deed in hand you need to wait about 2 weeks. If at this you have not gotten something from the resort you need to call and ask for a new owner’s packet. They can always look you up in the computer to prove you are an owner.

Thank you for your business,
